How to publish an event?

This method depends on how registration is handled.

  1. Create a post under the category “Event”.  This post will automatically be sent out to all members who are on the mailing list or watching the RSS feed.
  2. Click on the Events sidebar in the backend administration area.  This will bring up the Manage Events table.
  3. To add a new event, click on “Add/Edit Event”.
  4. Enter a Title.
  5. Check “Make the Title a Link”.
  6. Ignore the description area.  Create a post or link to an existing event detail page such as that in EventBrite instead.
  7. Enter the date/time of the event.
  8. Select a category.
  9. Add the link to the post or external page such as that in EventBrite.
  10. Click “Save Event”.

How to Collect Event Registration?

For conference, use EventBrite.

ONE POSSIBILITY:  For basic meet-ups & teleconferences, include at the bottom of the post that members should add a comment if they are attending.
